First Destination , Perhentian Island

  • north-eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia
  • 21 km off shores the remote town of Kuala Besut
  • is a group of 9 small islands 21 km off the coast of Terengganu and Kelantan on the east coast of North Malaysia
  • Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian) and Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian); Perhentian means "stop-over"
  • best spots to dive ( 10 spots, which are Pulau rawa, Tokong Laut, Batu Nisan, Gua Kambing, Artificial Reef, Pasar Tani Wreck, Sugar Wreck, Rubix Cube Reef, Tanjung Besi, Turumbu Tiga )
  • unfortunately, Perhentian suffers from the monsoon. This means roughly that the island is closed from November to early March. Hotels will be closed, ferries not available
